Popular from the late teens through the mid-30s is the "Sanitized Look" in bathroom and kitchen decor. White subway tile, white countertop tile, white porcelain light fixtures. Anything impervious and white was the idea as the world was introduced to vaccines and the germs that caused the disease.
This pair from the 20s is in remarkable condition with only a small manufacturing defect at the top of one fixture, hidden behind the shade. (You can tell a small void like this in the finish is from the factory is the way the the glaze rolls down into the void, clearly seen when the light hit it just right. No sharp edges were the glaze meets the void).
