Large and Heavy European Art Deco Globe

Item Code: CEI20160822002
Sold
Year : 1920-1930
Large and heavy art deco globe with a distinctive European flavor. Although American Art Deco and let's say French Art Deco were on parallel paths in general terms during that period there are subtle differences in how their respective designs play out. The feather like pattern along each side of the vertical ribs are a common theme in European glass design of the period. Another indication of it's origin is the fitter on the top of the globe is not one of the popular sizes found on North American globes of that period. The shade is clear and frosted with the warm tones in the images when lit is from the light bulb.
Overall a beautiful and unique glass globe placed on a solid brass ceiling fitter with a similar design of the same era.
There are a few very small chips along the high points on the glass. Difficult to see or photograph but there is an image of one shown. Some of these could even have been made in it's manufacture.
Drop as shown: 13 inches
Width: 14 inches
