Unusually short for this type of vintage fixture. The antique white porcelain fitter was designed short and the vintage globe is the smaller of the two sizes which were available at the time. Add a touch of vintage style where headroom is a concern. I restored a 1908 Craftsman and this would have been perfect for the dropped porch ceiling overlooking the Sound.
