Very Very Deco Vintage Wall Sconces by Lincoln

Item Code: WAL20120520001

Year : 1930-1940
Art Deco Defined .
Restored to their original glory are these early 1930s, just slightly over the top, Art Deco vintage wall sconce fixtures. The aluminum back plates have been polished back to their original mirror like finish and the golden accents have been hand painted to match the originals. Original glass slip shades carry the stylized rose and have a thread of ivy and leaves. The stylized rose looks to me to be another interpretation of the Mackintosh Rose. What I really like about these is the way the flowing waterfall floral upper section above the slip shade is contrasted by the heavy massive portion below the glass, with a defined waist of rectangles.
A common optimistic theme seen throughout the Depression era, a new beginning: ground, sun, new growth.
These do not come along very often. One of the best examples of early 20th century American design, especially for a production item.
Certainly a centerpiece and outspoken pair of sconces which would bring a ton of visual pleasure to any space.
Two pair possible.
