Wonderful depiction of a Scarlet Macaw parrot perched on jungle foliage, painted and fired on, on two sides of the shade. The uniquely wide (10") ceiling canopy is perfect for the shade, giving the impression of the jungle canopy over the Parrot. The canopy retains it's original finish and patina, showing copper highlights on the Laurel leaf pattern.
This is another of those shades which must be seen lit. The artist painted the tan background with a cloud like effect, areas of light and dark, and a white backdrop on the Macaw. It is hard to get a good idea of the cloud like effect and the intensity of color without being lit from within. This shows beautifully on both counts.
The drop as shown is 14 1/4 inches
