This type of antique lighting fixture, the "schoolhouse" light, shines well in kitchens new or old. The crystal bottom piece of this vintage fixture is deigned to direct light directly down to a work area, while the milk glass upper shade provides indirect lighting to the rest of the room. Common in schools and department stores in the teens and twenties.
Unique in that the bottom piece of glass is held in place with a chrome plated ring.
Shown on a flush mount fitter which does have a small cosmetic stress crack which does not affect the integrity of the fitter at all.
