Original Bellova Shade in Unique Colors

Item Code: CEI20150727001
Sold
Year : 1920-1930
We were lucky enough to find a collection of 10 of these very rare Bellova shades in different shades and colors. This is #6 of 10. They were produced in Czechoslovakia starting in about 1923 and were produced for the HG McFaddin Co., also the manufacturer of Emeralite lamps. They produced many different shades of glass shades in many different colors. One of the most readily identifiable features is the lace pattern painted on the tops and bottoms separated by a floral band along the middle.
I understand that all of the Bellova shades were signed at the factory and like the signature on Steuben shades, it is quite common for the signature to have been erased when washing the glass. This one retains just enough of the signature to see where it is but not enough to read it, see last image.
The bulbous shape and lace pattern has a Moorish feel to it.
The main body of this shade is a tan colored lace on a cream background with an apricot look to the top and bottom and a green section separated by a band of brown and black. Both the delicate paint and the glass is in excellent conditions.
Shown on a vintage signed Beardslee brass fitter.
Drop as shown: 12 inches which can be adjusted.
Width: 10 inches.
