Large Bellova Globe Czech

Item Code: CEI20190223001
Sold
Year : 1920-1930
995
Attributed to Bellova Glass Works, Czechoslovakia. A highly regarded glass maker in the 1920s that several American lighting companies contracted with for glass shades.
With an acid etched design hand painted and then fired so the paint adheres to the glass as part of it's outer shell. Acid etching removes a small amount of the glass surface leaving the unetched pattern slightly raised. A beautiful example of this time consuming technique.
With blue-green leaves surrounding the top shoulder of the globe, 10 stylized russet crosses and a tan outline including trefoils and arches all indicate this was made for a house of worship.
Now it can be a focal point in your house as the colors are as relevant now as they were back in the 20s.
It is shown on a new polished Nickel fitter, however we save several other options including some vintage brass and polished metal fitters.
Drop as shown: 23 inches
Width (globe): 10 inches
Just the globe is 12 1/2 inches tall.
