Very rare pair! .
Over the years we have lusted after this Vintage American Art Deco slip shade wall sconce. So rare this is our first pair ever, with over 15 years in the hunt. Has hallmarks of Lincoln Mfg. Co., Detroit. These antique lighting fixtures date from early to mid 30s when Art Deco was at its glory. One of the very best examples of American Art Deco lighting available and these do not disappoint.
The shape and design remind me of the pendulous blossoms of the Wisteria plant. On the back plates a vertical trellis runs up the middle, the branches weaving along the bottom of the trellis and then the cascade of blossoms and leaves along the sides to the bottom. The pattern on the front of the glass incorporates flowers, branches, and leaves.
Sconce backs are made of cast aluminum, which have been re-polished to bring them back to an almost mirror like sheen. Unique vintage original glass shades which seem to drape over the bulb (up to 75 watts each). Glass in almost perfect condition with no noticeable chips and no cracks.
Not only beautiful but substantial as well.
14 1/2 inches high
5 1/2 inches wide
5 1/2 inches projection
and 4 1/4 inches across the back plate
