What a treasure this fixture is. A 12 inch handmade globe where each individual piece of ruby red chunk glass has been wrapped with copper foil then each piece is carefully soldered into place. Unsigned but has the look, feel, and handwork of the glass masters found in Eastern Europe, especially around the region of the Czech Republic today.
The glass looks deep red to purple when the light is off but glows a deep ruby red when lit. The lead between the pieces of glass look darker in person than what shows in the images.
The ultimate Storyboook style fixture.
Found on its original beaded, egg and dart bronze flush mount ceiling fitter. All in excellent condition.
Globe is 12 inches across and will drop 14 1/2 inches on its original fitter. 100 watt max. |
