One of the staples in lighting fixtures during the 1920s and 30s was the white porcelain fitters with milk glass shades. Found in early bathrooms, kitchens, pantries, and mud rooms. The subway tile look was also popular in kitchen and bathroom back splashes and wainscoting. These vintage shades were produced to be an accent to the tile walls.
